Post Graduation in UK — Required IELTS score — its an english language exam consisting of reading, writing, listing and speaking. u need a passport to give this exam and ll cost bout 5000/-

Post Graduation in USA- Toelf quiet similar to ielts and u also have to give GRE — English and Math— and may be subject test too depends (unversity criteria)

See there are two season u can apply for the same–one is spring and other is fall… its a tough exam i wld advise you to take a professional help for preparation and also application to unversity.

    Dear Akansha,
I am from india, and my younger brother is graduate from IIT Kanpur. today only he scored 1500 out of 1600. he got 800/800 in math and 700/800 in English. how? i tell you . Since he was very strong in Math since academic. so he concentrate in english. he started from a book ” Word power made easy” first and then oxford dictionary (Bigger one). As per his statement he learned more than 5000 new english word , there antonymes and synonymes with their proper uses. so my suggestion is you have to be thorough with your studies and in english you have to be very sure for vocab. Rest after this you can go to TOFEL immdly as the english will be freshly remembered for you after GRE. I think you understand. Good luck and do it hard in first time . Bye

You should start by taking a free sample gre test at (look for PowerPrep software to download), you can do the same for the TOEFL at, but the TOEFL site does not give you a full test, just sample questions. Once you know how you are scoring on these sample tests, you can decide on a study plan. You should certainly get both the Official Guide for the GRE and the Official Guide for the TOEFL. You can order them on the web sites. Sometime libraries will have copies available Work through these two books. One thing you should do is immediately work on increasing your vocabulary. Reading higer level books in English will work. Also magazines, such as The Economist, or The New York Review of Books (available online) are excellent sources of high level English.
